Sainsbury flood voucher

Was given a till spit for £5 off £20 spend. Sort off compensation, I think, because they didn't have any veg due to floods. Does anybody know if these will be accepted at Tescos?

Just to say I got one of these as their warehouse had to be evacuated, hence no delivery. Can't help you with Tesco's sorry.

These should certainly be acceptable at Tesco, it's their policy to accept conditional spend vouchers from other major supermarkets. If the till operator says no then don't be afraid to ask for a Supervisor as they are definitely OK.

Re the 'till-spit' type ones though, I have never seen these from Sainsburys but any Tesco that is fairly local to the named Sainsburys on such a till-spit should certainly have no issues with them. Possibly OK nationally too as they are still 'conditional spend' vouchers as per the Tesco policy.

These are also given out on the last day before a refit of any Sainsburys (if they will be closed temporarily). So look out for & note the last day of trading if one is due to have a refit near you. They were in a leaflet form when I got some/lots/shedloads....!

If it was me I would be collecting dozens of these, or even more. Share them out with friends & family and use them every time you are in S or T, you will be surprised how many you will need. If they are being given out for any spend at the till, just go thru 10 times... :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I asked at the CS desk at my local Tesco this morning and was told they wouldn't take them, which surprised me as I thought the policy was as Coupon-mad says.

Might ask again another day to see if I get a different answer as I think it might have been the fact that it was a till-split that confused her.
