Halifax Mortgage process?

Hi,
We are currently in the process of first time buyer help to buy mortgage with Halifax,
Our broker has submitted the HTB application and also has sent our documents to Halifax (they’ve advised that they’re happy with these)
We have paid the valuation fee and are awaiting the result of this, is it after the valuation that they’ll do the full credit checks etc?
