I agree that it's really not a matter of opinion. You know your expected annual mileage, the two options for additional salary (taxed at your marginal rate), the mileage expense paid, the HMRC allowance for mileage; so you can work out how much per year each option is worth.

loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
