First time buyer with CCJ - advise needed

Hi,

I’m looking for some advise about applying for a mortgage with a Satisfied ccj on my record, only recently i have discovered the ccj on my record although it was issued in April 2018 from a parking fine in May 2017, which brought my score down to ‘poor’.

What are my chances of being accepted for a mortgage?
I’ve been told I have not much hope in getting the ccj set aside due to how long ago it was issued.

Advise would be greatly appreciated!

Speak to a mortgage adviser, most of them won't charge you fee for consultation and DIP, only for application. This is the only sure way to know.
  • How much is the CCJ for and when did you pay it?

I'd suggest using a lender who manually underwrites rather than using a computer scoring system, it sounds like a minor CCJ and some lenders will take a common sense view on that

Its certainly not a deal breaker we see much worse than this and still get people mortgages

    Hi,

Fine was £100 which increased to £334. I paid this on 9th jan 2019, which I understand is also best to wait over a year to apply for anything? Which was always in our plans anyway.
I’d like to hope that lenders will look over my situation and take everything in consideration.
Will this affect what deposit I will require and the rates I will get? Thankyou
