Mortgage retention delay

Hello everyone I have applied for a mortgage through Danske Bank and was credit checked, ID ,payslips etc sent in and was offered a mortgage everything was going smoothly up till the valuation which put a £3000 retention on the house and a damp and timber report was needed i have now supplied a quote for the work which was £1500+ vat now after a week of chasing the Mortgage advisor he told me it’s back in the credit department being checked over, question is how long does this usually take and should I be worried about it falling through, thanks

I don’t have a broker it’s all done between me and the bank/mortgage advisor and they won’t give me any idea what’s happening till the credit department finishes deciding if it’s good enough security for them which I find bizarre as it’s pretty standard repairs.
