Letter Of Comfort Duplicate - Scotland

Good afternoon,

I am part of a property chain and have just been told that my mortgage company does not have the Letter of Comfort that was originally on file for work completed before we bought the house. It appears to have gone missing as was originally submitted.

I understand I can get a duplicate and I have the reference number, but is there a way to fast track this in any way? I move in just over a week and am being told by the Council that they will not have it within that time and the original is nowhere to be found somehow.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

What does your solicitor say ? Not a lot you can do. If the original is not available then you will have to wait for the council to do their thing. The council planning website should show that it was issued.

Have you checked whether your solicitor has kept a copy on file? What are the works and how old are they? It may not actually be significant (bearing in mind the standard missives say everyone can ignore things from over 20 years ago).
