First time buyer - Mortgage

My son is looking to buy a property.
He has £30k deposit and is looking for a property around £100K - £120K.
He would like to relocate anywhere in the UK where he get a job and buy a place of his own.
Once he has found a job how long would he need to be in the job to qualify for a mortgage?
If you have knowledge about mortgages then any constructive help and information would be appreciated - Thank you in advance.

Some lenders will be happy with a signed job offer that starts within the next 3 months.
Some lenders will allow an application on the day he starts the job.
Others will want 3 - 6 months in the job.
