Yes Car Credit puling a fast one?

Having had a car loan from these incredibly pushy people, I have been trying to reclaim PPI. I keep getting snotty letters from the collections manager, stating that I do not have a leg to stand on (as I have signed the agreement), despite being self employed at the time the loan was taken out.

I really feel that I was mis-sold the PPI. They are saying now that they were not regulated by the financial ombudsman at the time, and therefor I cannot take this any further?!

Has anyone had any dealings with these nasty people, or has anyone got any advice for me?!!!
Thanks
Nicky
