mattress protector

im thinking of buying a memory foam double mattress and was wondering about getting a protector for it, I've not got any 'embaressing' problems just wondered if its worth getting one to keep it clean etc, I guess they've come on a long way since my childhood when they were like sheets of tarpaulin (spelling?)

Any advice?

It is allways worth getting a good quality mattress protector if you have an expensive mattress that you want to look after.

I bought mine from John Lewis where they have a big range. You can probably find them cheaper, but I had vouchers.
