Mortgages in later years.

I am 55 my wife is 62.we have been told we can only get a joint mortgage for a maximum 8 years until my wife reaches 70.we be work full time with a joint income in excess of 55k.because of the pension changes my wife will not receive her pension until 67.she has no intention of retiring from work until minimum 70.can we remortgage jointly past her 7th birthday .

    Try a different lender. Though you may well need to evidence a secure income post retirement age.

    Different lenders have different criteria. Nationwide goes to 75. You need to demonstrate pension income after retirement age for them to agree.

    It might be worth consulting a broker.
