Old Style Oxy Action???

Hi,
Can anyone recommend anything that I can put in the wash with DS's clothes that would have the same effect as that REALLY expensive Oxy Action stuff..... he's got some clothes pretty dirty over the last week, and they've just come out the machine looking almost as dirty!!!
I did wonder about bicarb, but don't wanna put it in without advice first, just in case!

You should also check out the pound shops to see if they have any of the oxy stuff in. I have seen it in the Leicester one - looked similar to the one I saw in Morrisons retailing at around the £2 mark. Might not be as cheap as napisan but was still a saving.0
