What can be claimed PAYE?

I received my annual tax summary today, £560 'other tax allowances'

What are these allowances, any guidance on what people on PAYE can claim?

if you do not understand your own tax then you will be liable for any underpaid tax because you have claimed allowances when you have no idea what they are

no there are not "standard" allowances a PAYE can claim. They all depend on your circumstances and all will have been notified to you in writing by HMRC in the past - start with your tax code notice letter ...
  • Have you got an accountant? Or payroll company? If so they may have put an allowance down for something in there for you.

Do you have a bike through work?
    Maybe a uniform?

Looks like this is the only one - Clothing and Tools. If you work in certain industries, such as the building/ metal working industries, you may have to use uniforms, specialist or protective clothing, gloves, etc. You can claim tax relief on the maintenance/ cleaning/ replacement of these items, but you can't claim for the initial cost of buying the items. That is, of course, as long as your employer does not already compensate you for these costs. To find out more about this relief you will need to contact HMRC.

I throw away my annual tax summary without looking at it, political mumbo jumbo in my opinion.
Anyway, my guess would be that you are a higher rate (40%) taxpayer and the breakdown is £60 fixed rate expenses and £500 Personal Savings Allowance.

    I earn around £15k, but I did have a £25k pension drawdown.

I do recall previously claiming for meals when working away from home.
