Roaccutane dispensed where?

Hi
I was recently diagnosed by a private physician with acute acne for which I was prescribed Roaccutane.
My employer covers private medical insurance, but it has a lot of small print apparently, including the limitation of actually covering prescriptions!
The private clinic from which the medicine is prescribed costs a whopping £180!
I've never myself paid so much for any prescriptions and I wondered if I'd be allowed to dispense the prescription elsewhere in my local pharmacy for example?
Many thanks

You can take a private prescription to any pharmacy. Each pharmacy will vary slightly on how much they chargeI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Or you could try going to see your NHS GP, armed with your prescription and any report / notes from the private doctor, and ask if he or she is willing to prescribe the same drug.
Certainly a friend of mine, who has a similar insurance arrangement, seems to manage to do this regularly!0 -
You can't ask the NHS Gp to prescribe roaccutane as it is a dermatologist only prescription on the NHS0

according to unforeseen's link OP can just take the presription to Lloyds and pay £1 to get it dispensed.taking a self-enforced break from this forum due to the persistent and ongoing troll problem, and the systematic abuse of the report button system in order to get people/usernames banned0

I suspect you will find that is per capsule!0 -

Worth mentioning that roaccutane is also a blacklisted drug on the NHS, so OP, there's absolutely no chance your NHS GP will convert it I'm afraid.
Shop around a few different pharmacies if you have the time and find the best price.0 -
I was prescribed privately the UK version which is Isotretinoin.
Take the prescription to a hospital pharmacy, works out so much cheaper. Think it was £25 for two months supply.0 -
If you get it prescribed generically as isotretinoin, it will possibly be cheaper. You can take a private script to pretty much any pharmacy. Get some quotes first though, as it's a private service they can charge as they wish.
I also hope you are going to get regular follow up from the private dermatologist - you need regular bloods and monitoring whilst on treatment. Also if you're female, you need a pregnancy test before starting treatment and you need to use effective contraception (not just condoms) whilst taking it.0 -

Correct. It even mentions that on the page0
