Paypal account in debt due to unauthorised transactions

So the story is i had £229 payments taken from my paypal in form of payment to cdkeys which i didn't do. (Nobody knows my account passwords and nobody within my house made the transaction.
As soon as the transactions came through i was notified on my mobile that payments had been made. I disputed that these were unauthorised and paypal denied my claim (twice). I had called my banks fraud line and advised i can the direct debit and ensure that i have changed all my passwords. I have also contacted the actionfraud line and have a crime number which the case will get looked into. I have also contacted CDKeys but they have only banned the account
So i can easily pay off the amount owing to paypal but the fact is i did not make these payments so i am not willing to depart with my cash. I have updated all the companies involved the the crime number but as my account is now a negative balance I have seen that this is also reflected on my noddle account. Will this then affect my credit score, where do i go from here?

Hi,
Fraud can be very difficult to prove, and you have to ask yourself how anyone else could of gained access to your account.
Different companies react in different ways, you nearly always have to approach this from the start point of a dispute, then go on to written complaint, and follow each companies complaints process.
Can be a long hard process and ultimately the financial ombudsman, and the information commissioner may have to have the last say.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Are you absolutely certain that you did not make the payments? I’ve twice queried “unauthorised” payments from one of my accounts which when investigated were real, it was just that the name on the payment was so unrelated to the company name that I could not remember what it was for.
If someone’s compromised your account security it’s a very small amount to get away with.
Have you linked a PlayStation account to PayPal and allowed anyone to play?0 -

I see this happening more and more, with Facebook becoming a popular tool for selling and Paypal being the most common form of payment. Am i right in thinking people can claim money back for various different reasons on Paypal? it's not something I've used much off0

PayPal is very much a double edged sword, it can be brilliant for fast online payments, but the onus is on you to keep your account secure, they always recommend changing your password ever so often, so you cant be hacked, not many do this though, or as often as they should.
Also PayPal tends to have a certain bias at times, for example, you sell a £200 PlayStation on eBay, using PayPal to transfer the money, the seller fails to obtain proof of posting, the buyer says he never received it, even though he did, PayPal automatically sides with the buyer, there is no argument, that's it.
Same with online payments, if it came from your account, then you are deemed to have made that payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi, I am certain they are not my purchases.
Never let anyone use my accounts. I have used my PlayStation to buy games via paypal but that is even a separate email address (and of course password)
The purchased items was Xbox gift cards but wasn't directly from Microsoft they were purchased on cdkeys0 -
Report to PayPal, remove your payment details from PayPal account, report to bank. The bank can trace the ip address that used your card to make payments. Report to police (fraud, theft and cyber crime). Then go back to PayPal with the URN that the police give you. They can trace every step. Keep in mind a friend/relative may have easy access to your PayPal account via your playstation. But still a crime has been committed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
