Sipp clarification

Sorry for another question about the £2880 contribution approach. I paid in this amount and have drawn down some of it in this financial year, leaving £1250 in the Sipp and have about £900 in the drawdown section. I really only want to leave the required £1000 with HL. Could someone explain to me ( in words of one syllable) how to withdraw the excess. I have read and reread the threads but have only succeeded in confusing myself.
