Hi
My dentist is fitting me veneers he said this would be free on the nhs as they're needed however when I left they gave me a personal dental treatment plan which says charge for NHS treatment £195 (band3) is this something that I would pay like a technicians fee or something? or is this there costs?
Thanks in advance

Thats what you pay for the treatment.
Not free, but much cheaper than private treatment for the same work.0 -
Unless you are pregnant or on certain state benefits then it is free.0

Why did he say it would be 'free'? Are you on a benefit that qualifies you for free NHS dental treatment?
If you are - then it should be free, and some mistake has crept into the system somewhere.
If you're not exempt from charges, then there will be the band 3 charge to pay (I'm assuming you're in Wales if that's your Band 3 charge?) - but I can't understand why the dentist said it would be free? Were you exempt at some point before and he's seen that?
Either way - I would just double check it with the practice, especially if you are exempt. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
always the free treatment is a marketing methods for them. The aim is to let you purchase more0
