Online SA form not allowing input on box 43

I am doing my tax return property pages and want to carry losses forward from last year which are more than my profits for this year but it comes up with an error message and won't allow me to enter more than this years profits.
It used to be Box 43 on the paper version but the online version will allow input but won't let me submit the page and move on to the next section.
I will have losses remaining to carry forward to next year (because my previous losses are more than this years profit) so should I just put in the remaining amount on next year's return even though this years return will not indicate that?
Many thanks!

Have you entered a figure at box 39 - losses brought forward used against this years profits?
The balance of any loss b/f should be entered in box 43.0 -
Thanks yes I have entered that, but when I try to put it won't let me enter into box 43, it's set to £0.00 and is uneditable in the online version.
If I enter the full amount into box into box 39, which I have done in previous years, it correctly calculates the loss to be used against this years profits (all of them) and puts the remainder into box 43, which is correct and is exactly as I have done in previous years.
BUT when I go to move onto the next page, it won't let me as it says the figure can't be more than my profits and I have to amend the box 39 to just the total profits not the total losses carried forward.0 -
The notes say that box 39 should not exceed box 38. So box 39 should be equalto 39 with the balance of loss in 43.....have you tried that?0

Thank, yes I have but when I do that, the box 43 is un-editable, (It doesn't appear within a box either) it's just set to £0.00 and won't let me input anything. It is only possible to get a figure in that, by putting a higher figure in the other box, but then it won't progress to the next page... urghh!0 -
I too hit this problem when completing my return six months ago - it's a bug in this year's data entry system! There were various reports of the problem on the internet when I sought solutions to the problem.
I entered what I could in the available boxes and typed-in the description of the problem and my numbers (as if I were submitting a paper return) in the tax return's "Any Other Information". This is what I wrote:
There appears to be a flaw in the data entry for the field for 'Loss to carry forward to following year' - it won't allow anything to be entered.
The figures should be:
Loss brought forward from previous year: £x,xxx
Loss used against this year's profit: £xxx
Loss to carry forward: £x,xxx.
[PS: You can't actually type colons and carriage returns in the on-line tax return - I substituted hyphens for colons and obliques for new lines.]0
