Has anyone managed to use their vouchers yet? I tried at Morrisons. The checkout guy said the vouchers were going through at the wrong price. After a couple of minutes trying various things he called for a manger. The manager took a couple of minutes to arrive, then he couldn't figure it out either, so I left the Creme eggs and took my vouchers with me.

I used mine at Boots & Sainsburys with no problem. Chap at Sainsburys said the tokens deduct 58p from your bill so you need to buy something else at the same time.

I've never been told that and nothing in the terms on the voucher to that effect, so I think he was trying it on!

I've swapped 5 vouchers for 5 eggs, but only in larger chains, independent shops may not do it.

He wasn't trying it on I promise. I had bought a £2 sandwich & asked why the bill was only £1.77. It was only a small Sainsbury's I used but the Boots was a large shop.

Yeah, even if you shouldn't need to buy something else to be able to use the voucher to claim the free egg, it's beneficial to do so to get the extra discount on your shopping (assuming the extra item is something you need anyway and can't get cheaper elsewhere). The voucher deducts 58p from your total, so if you buy something for £1 (for example) and the Creme Egg is only 35p then instead of paying £1 and getting a free egg, you actually only pay 77p and get a free egg. It's been similar with some other freebie/competition vouchers in the past too :)

I redeemed my vouchers at Tesco used 2 x vouchers - the eggs were on 342
and I still needed to spend a bit more to get the voucher value
    58p x 2 = 1.16
    342 eggs were only £1
so 3 x eggs and extra off my shopping!
    result!

Ive had 4 vouchers so far, all exchanged in Sainsbury. Yes - it comes off at 58p (RRP?) even when the eggs have been 50p or less. So if you only bought an egg at 50p with a 58p voucher it would presumably confuse the till unless you bought something else. A human being in a sweetshop would probably just take it.
I need to think of something new here...

In today's Time Out: (London edition for me; don't know if it's national).

The cover wraparound tells you to look for an egg and it's in the Tesco ad on page 36, top left photo.
