Changes to extra entries from sharing on mag dailies

It seems like (at least a couple months ago) the mag dailies changed their "Share & Earn/Share & Gain" feature to actually do what many people mistakenly thought it did for many years anyway! :)

I noticed the share text had changed a couple months back, but I didn't want to share on FB anyway, even if it did allow extra entires now, so I didn't explore further (or post in compers chat before) until tonight when curiosity got the better of me! :D

I know for years the mag dailies had a "Share & Earn/Share & Gain" feature that said it earned you extra entries and led to several posts in compers chat from people thinking it meant you got an extra entry into that specific comp whereas it actually meant you just increased the number of comps you could enter per day (and was unnecessary once they upped the daily limit anyway, so could just be ignored).......like this:

then the share feature seemed to disappear altogether:

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5810601/mag-dailies-extra-entries&highlight=share+earn

.........but I noticed a couple months ago that the text about sharing has changed slightly.

Old wording:

Share to earn more chances to win

Earn up to 3 extra bonus daily entries from sharing this competition by clicking on the share icons above.

New wording:

Share on facebook to automatically receive an additional correct entry

It's the change to "correct" entry that was curious......although the statement is still quite ambiguous!

If you share (I did try it once to check), it says "Message posted. Thanks for sharing. We have added an extra correct entry for you", and your daily entry limit doesn't go up (like it used to with the old extra entries wording), which would seem to suggest you get an extra entry into that comp, but there's no way to check. Am I just misinterpreting? Or have they changed something? Has anyone been using it for weeks/months and noticed a difference?

We have added an extra correct entry for you

Could that mean, that even if you got the answer incorrect, by sharing you'd get one RIGHT answer in the pot?

So if it was "What colour is the sky?"
    A) Red
    B) Yellow
    C) Blue

And you put YELLOW youd have no entries.

But if you shared, youd get one correct answer BLUE and therefore have one entry?

    That's how I'd interpert it.

I just entered some on Good Housekeeping. You were allowed 20 entries to start with. After I entered 3, I checked and I could only enter 17. I shared (by email as I don't have facebook) and then checked and it said I could enter 18. This would appear to be how it always used to be.

Yes, it seems that although it gives 2 share options (one for FB and one for email) it's only the FB one that gives the extra correct entry:

"Share on facebook to automatically receive an additional correct entry"

If I share via email then the number of allowed entries goes up (just like it always used to), but if I share via FB then the number of allowed entries doesn't go up.

I'm finding that the pop up box to share on facebook is often appearing offscreen. Normally I would grab the window and move it, but these boxes don't seem to be grabbable. I can get some by changing my zoom or changing the position of the page when I click on the share button (some of which are invisible too) but it's a right faff. Anyone know how to fix it please?

But if sharing on Facebook gets an extra entry are they not breaking the Facebook rule on sharing? Unless they get round it by the sharing entry not being mandatory as you have still entered once without it.

Probably doesn't matter to them either way as that is a FB rule and not theirs - the extra entry for a "share" is clearly an inducement to do it and something FB supposedly were against but they don't even seem to do anything about actual competitions on FB that require it so it isn't likely they will do anything about it even it is in a way fake news (making something appear more popular than it really is).
