Hi All

Sorry if this is the wrong board but wasn't sure where to put it

We had to recently kick our housemate out as he stole money from me and tried to fraudulently take out an amigo loan with me as a guarantor

It has come to light that he is a huge mess with his finances due to gambling and Class A drug abuse he is apparently in the process of applying for an IVA but I am STILL getting his mail

I have removed him from the electrol roll and asked him and his family to advise these companies (some of them are very dodgy payday loan companies) that he no longer lives at our address but all my requests have fallen on deaf ears.

I'm really worried about debt collectors turning up and trying to gain entry is there anything I can do? I have been putting everything back return to sender but doubt they'll believe that

TIA x

I'm no expert, but I would suggest simply telling any debt collectors that turn up that he does not live there any more. I have had debt collectors turn up at my door for the previous occupant (who I don't know) and I simply told them that the person they were looking for no longer lived here and they left. No issues since.

They may ask you for a forwarding address but I don't think they can try and gain entry.

Cheers Fiona I have his new address as mummy is bailing him out from being on the streets and I know her address off by heart so hopefully that'll help

Debt collectors have no power to do anything, bailiffs cannot force entry to private property except for certain unpaid debts such as magistrates court fines.

You simply tell them he no longer lives there, you are not required to evidence this.
