varifocals can cost up to 500 quid, a friend has broken his and the opticians say they can't be fixed
the lenses are fine it just needs the hinge on one side replaced
are there any good companies people have come across that would do this? surely there is a better way than an entire new pair?

Imagine it depends on the hinge, how its broken and the type of frame.
Are the frames still on sale anywhere - Could simply buy new frames and swap the lenses over if so.0 -
Depending on the damage, there is an online company called nationwide frame repairs who may be able to repair or replace an arm ... your friend will need to print off their online form and send the glasses away to them, to see if repairing possible.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0
