Resolve call - recorded me on the doorstep

Hello.
Looking for some advise please.
I received a letter on Saturday from resolve call (dated 28/12) saying they were working on behalf of their client “lantern”
I have no idea who lantern are.
Resolve call turned up on my doorstep this morning and asked me to confirm who I was and then advised me that I was being recorded for training and monitoring purposes. Is that legal?
He then tried to call lantern and pass the phone to me but I refused. I said I’d write to them.
He was fine and not pushy at all but I do t really know where to go from here.
He mentioned a loan that I had years ago but said he didn’t have anymore details than that. I have never had any communication from lantern.
Thanks
