If you've used all your food, check if there's a food bank reasonably near you.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

You may get better advice on the benefits board.

Register with an agency to pick up temporary work. A friend has finally had an agency come good for her apparently, 2 week’s full time packing work on public transport links which was preferred over permanent part time retail, much closer to home which would allow the opportunity to job hunt over a long period or retrain for the perfect position in the spare time so we all cut our own cloth. They will be ok I suppose until January 21st.
But whatever sort of job is ‘full time’ but zero hours. Mind boggles. Appreciate this won’t go down well but I would job hunt (him) to get out of this sorry situation or this would be the time I broke my contract of employment and jumped to get a second job. I know someone who took a part time fixed hours cleaning job in the last few months to lie low on benefits (no young children, no medical conditions, not in education) and I hear they are regularly pushed by job centre to actually work more in today’s way so I’m surprised the job centre endorse full time at zero hours.
A food bank should be able to assist - as in East Anglia they now make a thing of helping full time employed at minimum wage even so please don’t be ashamed.0
