Holiday Entitlement

Hi, I work as a cleaner and they pay me a salary of £100 per week, not hourly rate. I work about 12 hours a week but they pay me a salary of £100 a week. They pay me five weeks holiday pay at £100 a week, but I am wondering wether I am entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday pay, with would be about £550 per year. They don't pay me any extra on bank holidays including working Christmas Day. Thank you

Should be 5.6 weeks not working in the holiday year.

It could get complicated depending on the detail of your working arrangements and contract.

If the pay is fixed but hours change they may break minimum wage regulations.

There is no specific right to extra pay for working Christmas or other bank holidays. Indeed there is nothing special in employment law about bank holidays.

You are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks holiday so, on the face of it, you are entitled to more than you are getting.
  • Do they pay you 5 weeks paid holidays I.e 12x5 hours?... or do they pay you that money and expect you to still work?

it must be 5.6x12 hours of holiday, paid.
