redundancy - current or former employer?

had two separate contacts with the same employer. For each contact I was located at different locations. Got TUPE'd to new employer. The job at the one location continued but the other job ceased

I stopped doing the job that ceased 2 weeks before the TUPE occured. I was given 2 weeks notice. I had 12 years continuance of service

I would have thought the previous company was liable for redundancy and notice pay but then I heard that the incoming company takes on all liabilities in these situations

So who owes me the money?
