NOMS / MOJ overpayment

Hi,

Recieved a letter today stating that I have been overpaid by work to the sum of around £3,600.

The reason behind this was because of a period of sick absence. This is only for 2 months dec 17 & Jan 18. They have put me on zero pay (Should've been half pay) therefore the sum is incorrect for a start.

However I was told whilst off that my line manager + HR manager would and could sort using my annual leave (holiday pay) to cover the short fall so therefore I wouldn't be financially worse off.

This appears to have now not happened nor been actioned I guess.

I get that I should be aware of any abnormalities in my pay but I just got paid as normal like I was told so nothing from my side to report.

I'm now back in work and everything is good...... well apart from them wanting 3.5k that I've not got......

Any advice would be awesome

Ask them to agree to a payment plan and suggest a sum that you could pay each month.

But first get them to explain why you were on zero pay not half pay, and why the holidays weren't used to cover at least some of the shortfall.
