calenders with an English theme? There are some lovely ones around with Scottish Mountains etc. Especially the older ladies might appreciate those, Ones with English flowers or anything English themed. English tea, English chocolate (box of nice organic Green & Black's £3.99 each)0

Not sure about taking seeds though - I think US and Canada have very strict regulations about taking vegetable products into the country, something to do with protecting their produce from foreign pests. Worth checking before you buy. HTH

Some new British magazines - always interesting to read ones from another country. The tea towel suggestion is a good one. British 2008 diaries would suit both men and women relatives.0

When we were in gatwick (just passing thro') the Marks and Spencer there had small (about 2in x 1.5in) cubes of decorated christmas cake in boxes for £1.99, I expect you can get them in most Mark's.

how about digital photo keyrings?
Ebuyer had pink and silver ones for £7.50 last week. They come in wee boxes but you could take them out the boxes load some photos on them and put them in gift bags to take up less room.

How about some silk scarves for the older ladies? My Granny loves them and they weigh nothing! I got her a pretty silky patterned one last year for £8 in Debenhams, or there's always John Lewis etc.0
