Setting aside a CCJ help

Afternoon,
I’m hoping somebody here could possibly help me, long story short I had a phone contract with Vodafone that was cancelled by mutual consent due to a lack of service on their part, they simply required the handset back and the contract would be terminated.
They arranged for collection of the phone via courier, the phone was collected (to my knowledge, I live on barracks and this was done via the post room)
Over a year later I receive a letter from Vodafone explaining the contract is outstanding for the full amount £512. I disputed this, having evidence of the conversations with Vodafone which allowed the cancellation of my contract, Vodafone agreed and to my mind the matter was closed.
Fast forward to now and earlier this year I found out that I had been taken to court while I was away training in Canada for 7 months with the forces in 2016. I found out while I was in Iraq so was unable to do anything about it but now I am home I want to hopefully have this set aside as it’s destroyed my credit rating and I never had the chance to defend myself.
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Regards, Mike
