ID1 form verification

Hello,


My sister is selling her flat and has decided to attempt to take on doing her own conveyancing. However there is a part where she needs to verify her identity via a “ID1 form”. She has contacted over 15 local solicitors in her area and nobody will agree to verify her ID1 form.(maybe because solicitors want the business and don’t like dealing with DIY people)

She currently lives in Gravesend and commutes to work in barking.

Can anyone help her with a solicitors firm in striking distance of her who could verify her identity via a ID1 form?

This has been posted about before. No solicitor will verify as the risk is too great for them.

Why does she want to do her own conveyancing? You don’t save that much money.

It's a rather odd decision by the English & Welsh Land Registry to require applicants to be IDed by the very people who might object to the concept of DIY conveyancing! At least in Scotland the list of professionals who can confirm your identity is rather more extensive.
