missing pension

I issued a third party debt order against my ex's annuity pension which was set up and been in payment for 10 years. But they wrote to the court saying they no longer have a plan for him. I've checked with my ifa and he confirms that a pension annuity that is in payment can't be sold, moved, transferred or cashed in. I have a letter from them dated a few years ago confirming all the account details and it states its a policy for life and I have evidence it was still in payment 6 months ago. Anyone know how it can disappear ?? and he's not dead !!!

Thanks.

Looking at your post, it sounds more like administrative incompetence than anything more sinister.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
  • thats what I suspect but I provided account and plan numbers in a copy of a letter they sent to their client. But I have no way of challenging it if they've basically lied to the court. I'm stumped.

Have / had you a solicitor? If so have you asked their opinion?
If you don't have one at present, you may be able to get some legal guidance via your home insurance policy, as some (not all) have a legal 'add-on'.
