New Year, New Progress

Options
2018 was my year of realisation. It was a huge milestone for me and has taught me so much so quickly.
Just doing a quick check in as over the break I managed to keep my spending down to a minimum and I am really proud of the progress I am making.
Since April 2018 I have gone from being £54,273 in debt  to now where I am £31,761.76 in debt (both not including my home which I now owe £63,000 on my mortgage)
This process has seen me sell of my financed car, create a budget, STOP SPENDING MONEY etc
At first I was just panicked when I realised how bad I had let it go and realised the mantra, you can slip into debt easily but you can't slip out of debt. I told myself NEVER AGAIN and every single day I am working towards that goal.
Funny enough, I just singed up to a Post Office 0% Balance Credit Card for 18 months to transfer the balance from my other MBNA credit card which had £5,000 balance on it. Still not convinced about it but its done now and I am working my way to clear the other high interest debt now i.e my overdraft :(
Anyway, here's to an amazing 2019!!

  • Good luck shteca! You have sliced a huge amount off since April. Moving onto interest free will surely help boost a bit. I aim to do the same this year, think we have a similar total to shift. Here’s to 2019!

Thank you so much!! Lots of spreadsheets and budgeting. My spending was out of control in the past so simply stopping the spending was the first step. A stupid car finance went next!
A huge good luck to you too and Happy New Year!
