Can you claim a prescription charge with a forward dated Pre-Payment Certificate ??

Need some advise on a pre-payment certificate.
When the GP completes a prescription it is usually forwarded to the local pharmacy.
A prescription was issued by the GP surgery, and forwarded to the local Pharmacy on 15th December 2018.
A pre-payment certificate starts on 1st January 2019.
Can the pre-payment certificate cover the prescription charges, if the pre-payment certificate is used from the 1st January, or is it not honored in this case because the prescription was issued two weeks before the valid date of the pre-payment certificate?

When was the medication dispensed? That is the essential point. If you collect the meds and sign the declaration after 1/1/19 you will be ok.

I have no idea if/when the medication is/was dispense as I have not collected it as yet.
Confused by the inclusion of the thread which covers penalty charge notices. Do you think penalty Charge Notices and Pre payment Certificates are the same thing????Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
As the prescription charge is only due at the point of collection then the PPC needs to be valid at that point.0

ended up ringing then pre payment team instead, and like you, I was informed the prepayment certificate needs to valid, irrespective of when the prescription was issued!!Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
If you remember, this point was discussed in your earlier thread, (hence my referring to it), the important date is the date of collection and your signing the declaration. That's why I referred to the importance of your dating the declaration this time.0
