Even if he just got a job working full time for minimum wage that would be almost enough to service all your debts, so if he got one that pays more than NMW you are sorted.
Your water bill looks high to me, maybe one to submit a meter reading for.
Do you really need two cars? Sell one and you might be able to clear on of OH debts, or make a good chunk towards your MBNA one
We are already on a water meter and wastewater is the higher bill. Water pressure on the taps is a bit much though.
We tried to sell one of the cars on webuyanycar and got offered £325 as its a 13-year-old car with over 150k miles.
We currently think we need 2 cars. I work all over the place between Sheffield and rural Somerset (with overnight stays)every 2-3 weeks depending on who I need to see. Usually, I say yes to client visits in rural locations no one else wants out of desperation. our son is placed in a residential setting 200 miles from home and we go to see him every 2 weeks. We did over 20,000 motorway miles this year.
OH has been job hunting. In the months where we got a small temp job of about £420, universal credit reduced by almost £600 so I think it'll take more than minimum wage to make things up.
The good news is that I have just found out that I should not have been paying for my prescriptions as I was about to skip my next repeat prescription for antidepressants0 -
Agree that clothing and gifts can be all but stopped. eBay and charity shops could save you £180 pm. Personally I would sell one car also. You work part time and if you partner worked full time he could drop you off or you could public transport. Selling a car would pay a chunk off. I also agree that your partner should be taking any job, even minimum wage in a supermarket and that would greatly help you
I realise it's tricky, both my partner and I have had to do this in the past, her doing night time bag packing for online delivery.19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!
:heart2: ..... to buy my first home. :heart2:

Unless I am reading wrong you earn £610pm from your job but are driving all over the place. Would it benefit you to find a job nearby instead?19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!

I am assuming the OP is some kind of freelance worker, so has to visit clients in their own home, and obviously has a large area to cover.
It`s all very well advising a job change, its actually getting the job when there are 150 other people chasing it as well, its not that easy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Getting back to work was tricky so my best bet for getting a foot back in the door was to accept a subcontract to do some bookkeeping and advisory work visiting clients in remote places no one else wanted to go. I am slowly gaining some recognition for myself and they are willing to give additional work including one day we week within an hours drive from home for 3 months. I have to be a bit less desperate to say yes to just about anything in future. Mileage and business accommodation is paid to and covered by the business.
Thanks so much everyone - today OH called one credit card company and Sainsbury's who were understanding and willing to set up a payment plan. His bank where he also has a £6k credit card balance wasn't particularly helpful and we hope they don't nick the UC or DLA when it gets paid or something. Can they do that?0 -
Your OH should open up a brand new account away from any banking group he owes money to and start having his benefits paid there. Lenders have the right of offset so the bank could start taking money from his current account to cover the £6k debt.0

I can't give any specific advice but please just remember that there is always a solution to a crisis, always, and you will find the wayTrying to keep in budget.

Echoing what gien has said....you can do this
Best of luck xxx0 -
Two cars but only £50 in petrol? Assuming one of you gets expenses it seems like it would be cheaper for the other to use public transport / bikes / taxis0
