I believe some DB schemes have a time limit for how long after joining you are given to transfer other pensions in - work asking about.

Normally a year in the CS scheme...

OP, you're in one of the best pensions in the country, each year you work you'll accrue 2.32% of your salary as annual pension. Even taking your £360 figure, with no salary increase/promotions, in 30 years your annual pension would be £10800 p.a. and that's without any inflation (CPI) increases added (which wil make a big difference)....add that to state pension and you've got a solid basis for retirement ;)
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

The alpha pension is so absurdly extravagant from the Taxpayers' perspective that some day it will need to be knocked on the head. So you might be wise to take advantage of it while it still exists.

It would be best to treat alpha as the default arrangement, and only switch to Partnership if there is a compelling reason (and zero contributions are not a compelling reason).

That's certainly the way for most people to bet. Get a DB pension while they are still available.
