Hi
I am trying to help a family member out who is on the verge of going into a DMP due to a relationship breakdown and now only 1 wage coming in. She has also applied for universal credit.
I have advised her to speak to Step Change, however they can’t help her at the moment as she is caught in the universal credit minefield and doesn’t have her monthly payments confirmedbut is now falling into arrears with her creditors I have suggested doing a self managed DMP and i know i have seen template letters in here. ( she only has 2 creditors she will have to liaise with
I have helped her with I&E budget, Can anyone send me a link to the letters we could use please?
Many thanks

Hi,
If she only has two creditors it’s more of a payment arrangement than anything else.
Just compose a simple letter explaining the situation, tell them how much she wants to pay, when, and for what estimated period.
Her credit file will take a hit, but if the money isn’t coming in, she has little choice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
