Help with capquest and credit file

Hi I would be really grateful if someone could give me some advise on this
I have a really old debt with capquest that I have been paying off at £10 a month for several years now- the account with capquest was opened November 2011 and I have been paying them ever since.
This account is shown as a credit card on my credit file- is this correct? Should it not be removed by now? Is there any way of getting capquest to remove it? The balance is £554 currently and unfortunately I have no way of paying it off in full at the moment but surely a. Debt this old should not still be appearing.
Any advise would be gratefully appreciated.

It is a current debt and you are paying it. An old debt is one that is not current. Hence it will come off six years after it ends. I appreciate that you cannot pay it off in full. Can you however increase your monthly payment, try say £12 for example to start with and if you can manage after a few months up it to £14- do gradual increments so you reach a level you feel comfortable with.
