On a separate note - if people are not happy to pay the extra for the Coolpix 5200, the Coolpix 4100 on offer (at a very good price), is also a very good camera with excellent reviews. See below. I've just ordered one.

Thanks for this. I bought the Nikon 410 this afternoon v. excited. When I ordered I tried to put in a code to get the offer of 1000 advantage points on £75 spend. No go. Can anyone explain how codes work so I will understand.

i was still undecided about the nikon 5200 or the 4100 it is for holiday and ebay etc.. snaps only which one would be best for this. if they come back in stock that is?0

I went for the 5200 when it was £99.99 less 10%. It is a superb camera. Bearing in mind these really did cost £300 a few months ago!
The 4100 has a plastic body rather than alumininum and has 1MP less. If it works the same as the 5200 it's probably still a great buy.
Beware of the cost of Nikon genuine accessories however - the Nikon Coolcase costs at least £20 and genuine batteries cost about £30 in UK, although you can get fake batteries or genuine ones on eBay from Hong Kong for about £10 each delivered.
Not sure if the 4100 takes the same lithium batteries as the 5200 though.
Also, if you really need one, the underwater photography cases cost more than the camera itself!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
My 4100 arrived this morning, ordered yesterday, well done Boots. Can anyone tell me, do you just go to the Boots machine to check whether the points you have earned have showed up? Am using all your advice to look around for extra memory. Thanks0
