GO for the one you wand and if you get it leave the current one on good terms, but don't do the "can I come back in 2 years thing".

Coming up to 2 years time, take a look around and see what is available and apply for it.

Go for the fix term if it appeals. If you don't get it you still have a job.
Definitely don't expect to get your current job back though. Unless applying for a secondment within the same organization you can't demand that you get to leave for 2 years and then come back to your job. Especially if still on probation you haven't even proven yourself as being capable of your current job yet.

Of course there is, the issue is access to remedy is limited.

Duh!!! LA generally means Local Authority not Los Angeles on these boards. If you were trying to make somebody look stupid I think you may have succeeded.

Your kind of right, so i am wanting my current employer to in affect release me for a fixed term, with the intention of returning, this is quite common in LA. The issue i have is, as mentioned in my first post, i am still on probation, and it is with a neighboring local authority, as appose to the same local authority. so to answer to your two durther questions, yes i would expect a employment agency worker, or someone to be taken on, on a fixed term whjile I am away

I've worked for a LA for a while and I've never heard of this. You can certainly get secondments, which are temporary and they'll keep your substantive post open for you. However crucially this'll be within the same council and I think it's unlikely they'll give it to someone who's only been there 2 months. If you want a job with another council you'll have to fully quit your job.

LA = Local Authority, and NOT sunny Los Angeles, better to ask for explanation, than assume.
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

No wonder people have such employment problems when they believe things like this.
