new possible self employed work- setup/ongoing costs?

seen a s/e job offering on target income £25k + VAT..

assuming only £20-22k+ VAT actual, what costs are involved, or should I account for, setting up as s/employed?

Simply designating yourself as self-employed costs nothing except a few minutes of your time. See https://www.gov.uk/browse/business

Just be sure you will pass HMRC's test for being truly self-employed (link above gives necessary info) and beware any costs you have in terms of buying stock, equipment, or anything else.

Make sure you have a signed agreement in place with whoever is offering this wonderful 'opportunity' before you go for it....remember the old adage the things which seem too good to be true usually are. Hope I'm wrong and it's a great chance for you.
