I didn't have any affordability checks when staying with the same lender for a new deal. Congratulations on your win, that is absolutely amazing!3

What an amazing win. Well done for being so disciplined too and planning to pay it off your mortgage. It does sound like a deal with your existing bank would be the way to goAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

So my pessimist self had no need to be worried, and I've got the money in my account. I still can't quite believe it to be honest. I just keep looking at it haha. Tomorrow I will call VW and make an overpayment. The most you can do in one go is 3k and I have the regular payment going on the 15th anyway so I'll let those two payments register and then get a settlement figure as it should be under 3k by then so I can pay the remainder over the phone. I prefer that to BACS only because I'm so paranoid when sending big amounts I will get a digit wrong and the money will disappear into the ether (I know, irrational).
I've made 14k now since the start of November. I thought that was insane without the big win, but I think I'm actually going to have won the value of my car by the time we're at November, or maybe before even. I'm so grateful, I really am, because it is life changing. Imagine what the mortgage overpayment would be now if it weren't for the car and CC!
My mum broke both her ankles on Thursday and ended up having surgery on one of them so that hasn't been great. She has been so full of morphine she has only been able to finally message us kids this morning, but thankfully she is okay and can go home today. She has osteoporosis and that's the 3rd time she has broken one of them now so they have had to put a metal plate in it. I feel bad for her, the pain must be awful. I say that, but she actually was walking on the less bad one thinking it was only sprained (by which I mean the one that wasn't broken in 3 places) and waited hours for her husband to get home before going to hospital. They then sent her in an ambulance to a different one for the surgery. She has a high pain tolerance, but that is ridiculous and I will be telling her off when she is up to speaking.
I'm still plodding along with C25K. I was enjoying it but I have gone on a bit of a lull at the moment. I am still doing it and I want to keep it up because I can feel the benefit, but for some reason I'm not enjoying it as much as I was. Ironically on Thursday when I went out I came back with a sore ankle, though I'm not actually sure what I did, so I am giving myself an extra couple of rest days for it to heal properly. I am able to run 25 mins straight though, which for me is a huge change and not something I ever thought I would be able to do so positives!
I hope you are all getting on well and managing with how things are at the moment. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.472 -
Great news on being able to overpay the car. Sorry to hear your mum was injured. Hope she recovers quickly. Well done on your running... I struggle to walk 25 mins without stopping never mind run.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

So car all paid off and mine now. Woo! Am so looking forward to seeing it come off my credit report.
I did the sweep of our accounts before being paid and took another £1994 off the mortgage. It will be good not having the monthly payment go for the car as it can be diverted towards paying off either CC or mortgage instead. I've already made £1350 this month from sideline (again, better than usual) which is great as everything left will be swept over at the end of our pay month again. I think about £700 of that has been in this pay period, the rest has already come off the mortgage.
I'm now under my original target of 256k which (was) 80%. I was actually looking at my projections from when I first started and am pretty much right on target. Maybe I should be a forecaster. I didn't foresee the extra MB stuff I have been doing, or buying a new car, but the car was 17.5k and I've made 15k from the extra MB stuff since November so I've virtually got the car for 'free'. I know I got very lucky, but still, It's insane.
My mum is getting on okay but is obviously bed bound until her 'good' break fixes, she's 10 days in now. They say 6 weeks for a normal break so will see. She's the sort of person who can't stop moving so she's finding it quite mentally tough.
Went on my 20th jog today after a week nursing my ankle. It felt so hard, so I'm going to try and eat better as I've been a bit heavy on the junk lately which along with the rest won't have helped my stamina. I might also go on a few slightly shorter guided runs and see how I get on. I think part of it is psychological to be honest, and not having the pressure to complete might help me, I'm very stubborn and not going to give up though! Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.472 -
