How about joining the monthly grocery challenge? As well as focussing on saving money/sticking to the budget, people on the Challenge are very helpful coming up with ideas re meal planning, using up odd ingredients, etc.

I have the same problems, I really need to cut back on takeaways and start cooking healthy meals again. I hate throwing food away but this has totally gone out of control lately. I've joined the January Grocery Challenge so hopefully that will help too. The ladies on the old style forum are amazing and have so many useful tips xGC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

Good ideas here. I certainly don't throw much away, definitely not potatoes, I'm a single person house, and don't eat potatoes everyday sometimes only twice a week. But always use them all. Sprouting bits can be cut off, and if you know you're not going to get through them cook and freeze them. As wedges, roasts or mash !
Cook double one day then it can be repeated or frozen for when you don't have much time.
My Sunday veg is often tupperwared up in fridge and eaten with fish say the day after.
Meal plans I'm not so good on I tend to have loose ideas. Decide the night before then I can lift out any necessary bits. Good luck.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
