What do 14 year old girls like?

I need to buy a gift for a 14 year old girl, and I must admit I don't have a clue.
I will have to post the gift so it must either be something not very heavy or something I can have delivered directly to her.
I did wonder about perfume, as my 9 year old is perfume mad. What do 14 year olds like?
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

2 of my Step daughters are mad on Playboy (along with all theire friends). There ages are 12 and 16 (just).
They 16 year old has just had her bedroom redecorated in the Playboy theme. I dont know what kind of bugget you have but Playboy have such a vast range, i'm sure you would be able to find something!

  • I am thinking of about £12. But if I could get something reduced from £12 to £10 that would be even better.
    Thank you for your help.

My 14 year old son has a female friend (not a girlfriend ;)) who loves lipgloss or lipbalms. For her birthday we got her a Lush lipbalm which apparently she was very pleased with. If you try somewhere like Superdrug they have ranges of fairly cheap cosmetics aimed at teenagers and you could get something like sparkly lip gloss. I would be wary of getting any "grownup" makeup because her parents might not approve.

For reasonably priced perfume you could try the Body Shop perfume oils, that's what I used when I was a teenager. Lush have a new range of solid perfumes in tiny tins that fit in a handbag, I haven't tried them myself yet though. Solid perfume has the advantage that it won't break or spill in the post.
  • Voucher for a manicure, anything from top shop, Paul Frank socks, lush bath fizzers maybe?

When I was 14, I just loved gimmicky girly things - a great example I saw recently was a USB Retro Vacuum Cleaner for your computer! Does depend on said girl having a PC, mind you... This one's on Amazon, but Tesco Extra is selling one in prettier colours:

I also loved bath stuff - I've no idea why, there was just something about soaps and smellies and nail varnish etc. "Lush" is definitely a top brand for this - bath bombs, lip balms, even just the pre-packed gift sets would be very welcome!

And stationery - pretty notebooks, photo albums, diaries... girls like to have the best books at school, and tend to scribble down thoughts / ideas when they're at home, so they can get through hundreds of these. An example that would go down well:
