Local honey is about £6 a jar heretaking a self-enforced break from this forum due to the persistent and ongoing troll problem, and the systematic abuse of the report button system in order to get people/usernames banned0

If you just want something sweet to spread on toast, any old honey will do.
The "specialness" of manuka honey is because of the health benefits.
If you Google it, you'll find lots of info.
My dentist has recommended it as an added measure against gum disease - that's in addition to the normal cleaning regime, healthy eating, etc.
It's anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial, and has traditionally been used in dressings to help wounds heal.
He only recommmeded it yesterday, so I have no personal experience yet of its efficacy - but I'm happy to give it a good try!0 -
I prefer the taste of Manuka honey to he normal shop honey. It is not so sweet.
Similarly, the local honey I can buy is less sweet than the mass produced honey, which I prefer. It is also not pasteurised so should not be given to babies0 -
I don’t eat honey because it is sugar in a posh overcoat0
