David Lloyd Price increase

Our David Lloyd membership for a family of 4 has gone up 3.33% from £240 to £248. Can anyone tell me if that is within the allowable increases? I’m trying to get out of my contract early so looking for a reason if possible.

Thanks!

    15.2 Increase in membership fees

At any time, you can end your membership if we give you notice under A18 (‘Changing your membership
fees and this agreement’) of an increase in your membership fee of more than either 1% above the rate
of inflation or 3%, whichever is higher. The rate of inflation means the Retail Prices Index All Items 12-month
percentage change published by the Office for National Statistics for the July before the date on which
    we give you notice.

You must give us notice in writing in line with A2 ‘Notice’. The period of notice is one calendar month for
Flexible membership or three calendar months for Standard Annual and Standard Monthly membership.

The RPI All Items has been at least 3% in every month of 2018 (up to and including Nov 2018)

    Hope that helps

Just posted a new thread named
    "David Lloyd giving notice incorrectly"

Might be of interest to you. Looks as though your increase was within the RPI + 1% but if you got the email which I had gotten.... you may have not been served notice properly, in my opinion.
