So Hillingdon is not the only, but by far the best pace to Park in terms of time from the A40 to the site.  Last train is quite late, but they do not run all night.  If the ig is not wembley (or for future reference) then getting out from centre of town is about 40 minutes

Different unions for rail and tube I believe.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I thought it included tubes? We are supposed to be at the London stadium but on the 24th so have everything crossed that we will be ok and get back to Waterloo before midnight to avoid it all.

Hillingdon is looking good... not finding anywhere better so far.  We're about 15 mins from there and then 28 mins by tube apparently.  Very doable :)

When I googled, the 21st includes tubes.  Not the 23rd or 25th.... hopefully that remains the case.  I'm not a fan of strikes (not just because these ones inconvenience me!)... seems like a kind of blackmail?  I didn't engage with healthcare strikes a while back, if I feel under appreciated I move on.  Which I'm doing :D

I think though that when it comes to the public sector the govt are unlikely to listen without strikes. I appreciate rail is privatised...

Hope you get to your concert okay.

Yes I read that later, about the tubes. I sympathise with the reasons behind the strikes, but we bought these tickets back in September 2019 and if they had included the 24th there would be no way we could have managed it. I was already aware there are barely any decently priced hotels available in London for that weekend due to the sheer number of big concerts and west end live in Trafalgar Square!

Hope you manage to get to your concert, and I have everything crossed our journey goes smoothly on the Friday.

Beware any one travelling by train next week between the strike days as I was told yesterday by a train company employee that the reason they are striking three seperate days isbecause it will also cause disruption on the other days as trains will be in the wrong place. So maximum disruption for only 3 strike days.

I am dreading the journey tbh. You are right there will be huge disruption. I can't drive to where we are going without going the whole way around the M25.

I will be gutted if we end up missing this concert. Been waiting three long years for it!

  • I decided to resell the tickets....  there were also overnight strikes on the jubilee and overground lines.  Basically meaning only the Metropolitan line would be running from Wembley that evening.... the logistics and risk of waiting hours for a tube meant I wasn't looking forward to the evening anymore.  I'll try and get tickets for another evening and failing that, will have to wait for another tour  :'(
