Link financial giving trouble.

Hi All,

I've been in communications with Link financial regarding a full and final settlement since October. They're so difficult to deal with because after such a long negotiation they've at best offered 50%. Advising they can't go any lower because it's a business decision. I've spoken to the team leader there and told her everything in my knowledge and power to try and get a lower settlement, even my CCA request (which they have recently acknowledged)- she advised that she has the credit agreement and will send it out. Our situation is pretty bad, hence our other creditors have accepted 25%. These two link debts is our final ones before we're debt free and the difference is nearly £1k. A family friend is helping out with the full and finals in terms of money.

I don't know what to do, £1k is a huge difference to us but they've advised they can't go lower.

Anyone had experience with Link with f&fs?

I've found Link a right pain to deal with and there is absolutely no consistency with how they deal with one person to the next. They probably do have some sort of tariff they use when determining what they'll accept as an F&F and they are definitely not going to share that with you.

You say you've sent off CCA requests - yet you are trying to negotiate F&Fs without having received their response. So my advice would be to wait to see if they send you the requisite documentation and go from there. If the debts are proven unenforceable you'll have much more of an upper hand when it comes to F&Fs. If they do provide what's required you can then consider whether you want to go with the 50% (if you can) or not.
