Hello,
We require business class one on your car insurance to be able to claim back mileage for work however work won't compensate us for the difference in cost. Would we be able to claim the difference between Social domestic, pleasure and commuting and business class one?
Thanks
Gary

I don't think any tax relief would be available on this. Motor insurance is part of the normal running costs of the car and therefore should be included in the normal approved mileage rates (40p first 10,000 miles, then 25p).I am an Accountant. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Accountant. All posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and should not be seen as professional advice.0
