Interactive Investor have not been good with in-specie transfers, although cash tends to be better.
I don't have an issue with the web site, it does what I want. I have had to send printed forms for making deposits into the SIPP.
AJ Bell site is reasonable, but I wouldn't judge it particularly better than II's, just different. They are a bit better in their communication skills IMO0 -
Every pension transfer I have ever done -- and I've hopped around several SIPP providers over the years -- has required printed paperwork with a 'wet signature', so Interactive Investor won't be an outlier here.
If both sides use Origo options (which all the big players do) then no paperwork is required any more. If one side doesnt use that, then discharge forms are usually needed.Interactive Investor have not been good with in-specie transfers, although cash tends to be better.
To be fair, in-specie transfers with most are not smooth and simple. Especially in pensions. Cash transfers are just so much quicker and easier.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). We are fans of HL but at £100k you can find cheaper.
I'd still be tempted to split that money in two. If one provider had IT nightmares and cut me off from all my money I might have nightmares too.
In fact we are already wondering whether one of us should stick with HL and the other transfer somewhere else. Are any of the providers paying a cash back for transfers at the moment?Free the dunston one next time too.0
