Do they seriously look like going bust in the new year ? Mike Ashley is saying they rejected a £40 million interest free loan from him.

Be careful and spend any giftcards - when I was in store a few days ago they were heavily promoting them at the till. Asking every customer whether they wanted to purchase any!0

I'm cynical .
Ashley wants to buy them.
They are struggling , he announced that he offered them money that they refused . He claims they are about to or have run out of cash.
Share price further torpedoed , suppliers more twitchy , makes it more likely they go bustEx forum ambassador

This is my favourite department store. The loan was conditional on him (m ashley) getting assets from the group. This would place him ahead of other creditors including the pensioners. I have made an effort this year to not buy from Amazon and buy from Debenhams. Not because I dislike Amazon, but because I like Debenhams. I want it to be there next year.0
