Amigo Loans
Hi...hopefully someone can help/advise me.
I have been seperated from my wife for four and a half years (not divorced as yet) and I live in the family home on my own and make all the mortgage payments etc.
Last weekend i received a letter from Amigo Loans addressed to my wife. The letter was from Amigo Loans Fraud Team to confirm that she had put herself forward as guarantor for a named individual, someone I know that is a work colleague of hers.
I have rang the Fraud Team at Amigo Loans to inform them that she has committed an act of fraud and that she has not lived at the property for four and a Half years.
They have since told me that they have amended her address details on there system and seemed happy to leave it at that.
My concern is that the loan had already been paid out whilst still linked to this address regardless of the fact they may or may not have changed the address.
So is this loan still linked to the property and is there any redress for me to take due to the fact that she put herself forward under false pretences.
Amigo Loand where to say the least very blase about the whole situation as they where going to get their £8k back plus 49% APR but surely if she has put herself forward fraudenantly there is something that I can do.
Additionally I see from other posts that if she was to pass away then Amigo could potentially come to me as we are still married in the eyes of the law.

Only a person can take out a loan, not a property.0

What other posts? Being married doesn't make you liable for someone else's debt in the UK.0 -
Debts aren't linked to addresses. They're linked to people."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0

Just to echo the above, you will not be affected by this in any way, shape or form, you will never be liable for this loan.
Loans are linked to individuals, not to any particular address or property.

There could be an impact if the OP and the ex are still financially linked. House in both names with a joint mortgage?0
